THE THYME GARDEN
Herb Company Since 1990
The
Thyme Garden is a family owned farm hidden in the magical coast range mountains
of Oregon. Visitors will enjoy strolling through our beautiful display gardens
which provide the opportunity to experience one of the largest collections of
herbs in the Northwest. They could discover our secret reflecting pond hidden
in our forest of tall firs and old growth maples. The peaceful sound of water
falling is ever present from our two year round streams as one pauses, enfolded
by nature. We are proud of our nurserys selection of herbs and useful plants
for sale in our hand split cedar lathe house as well as in our greenhouses,
which are also open for visitors to enjoy. Our largest greenhouse contains a
small conservatory with its own little stream and a huge specimen called Angel’s
Trumpet, which may have over 200 ten inch long trumpet shaped flowers at one
time! The fragrance from this plant as well as all the other aromatic plants
we have collected in this room can be intoxicating. We sometimes call this room
the aromatherapy experience.
Our interest in herbs began at our country restaurant which
we surrounded with herb gardens. Not only providing our kitchen with herbs and
pleasure for our customers, our gardens produced seeds which we began to collect
and sell. From these sprouted the Thyme Garden Seed Company. In 1989 we embarked
on a new adventure when we sold our restaurant and purchased our 80 acre farm
to expand our seed business and start a nursery. Our farm also gave us plenty
of space to enjoy one of our favorite hobbies, collecting new and unusual varieties
of herbs and displaying them for people to experience and enjoy. The Thyme Garden
continues to evolve and grow with our successful Garden Tour and Luncheon experiences.
We are now able to host and cater weddings with completion of our large split
cedar shelter in
the woods for receptions and group gatherings and a cottage with a full kitchen,
great room and brides dressing room.
Our plants and seeds are grown organically, free of pesticides, herbicides
and commercial fertilizers. We harvest our herbs and seeds by hand in an attempt
to provide you with the best product available. If for any reason you are unhappy
with your purchase please let us know and we will be glad to replace the item
or send a refund. Thank you for your support.

Collecting and organically growing herb plants and herb seeds from around
the world for culinary, medicinal and ethnobotanical uses is our business
and our hobby, but more importantly we feel our plants are part of our
family and have taken the responsiblity to make sure they are strong and
healthy. When a customer orders from our catalog or leaves our nursery
with our plants or seeds they are taking home a part of us.
Let's go for a walk and sample a few of our beautiful display gardens.

Why buy organically grown seeds and plants? To us it means supporting
the state of mind it represents. This means the grower does not
believe in poisoning the earth and practices ethical harvesting,
recycling, consuming fewer resources and doing everything they can
to help our planet survive.
Thanks for visiting us.
We look forward to hearing from you!
