Willamette Hop Rhizome
All purpose, moderate yielding, English fuggle hybrid released by the USDA in 1976. Named for the Willamette Valley, an important hop-growing area. It has a character similar to Fuggle, but is more fruity and has some floral notes, mild aroma. In 1998 Willamette was responsible for 18% of the total USA hop harvest. alpha 4-6%
Used to brew: All English-Style Ales, US Pale Ales, US Brown Ales, American Lagers, Porters.
Substitutes: Fuggle.
