Adonis aestivalis

Plant Type: Annual
Height at Maturity: 18”

Description and Uses: It's easily seen why the nickname for this herb is "pheasant’s eye" with its bright crimson flowers with black centers. Greek legend has it that Adonis was killed by a wild boar and from where his blood fell, this flower sprang. It has similar medicinal properties to digitalis.
Seed Germinating Tips: Plant outdoors in spring after danger of frost, or indoors 6 weeks before last frost. Cover seed 1/8” with fine soil, pressing firmly. Keep moist.
