Southern Cross Rooted Certified Organic Hops Rhizome

A unique dual purpose hop released from the HortResearch hop breeding program at Riwaka, New Zealand in 1994. Southern Cross is a triploid cross between New Zealand SmoothCone and Cali (short for Californian) and English Fuggle. Its high alpha content is a soft bitterness paired with a flavor of lemon jest, pine and spiciness. The balance of oils, flavor and aroma seems to have no substitute with other hop varieties.

Used to brew: IPAs, Pale Ale, Indian Pale Ale and Lagers
Diseases: Good resistance to mildews and diseases

About Rooted Rhizomes:

Certified Organic Rooted Rhizomes are two-year hop plants organically grown without the use of pesticides, fungicides or herbicides. They have produced crowns full of buds ready to produce healthy bines plus vigorous root systems. The standard rhizome cutting is the typical way to start a new hops plant but it doesn't have a crown and a root system, that is created the second year. These Organically Grown Rooted Rhizomes give you a great head start towards harvesting that crop of hop cones you'll be looking forward to.
