Belladonna Seeds
Atropa belladonna
Description and Uses: This herb, also known as Deadly Nightshade, has a fairly sinister past with its powerful sedative and poisonous properties. The shiny black berries are a source of atropine, used in the treatment of eye disease and muscle spasms. Venetian ladies would use a distilled water of belladonna to dilate the pupils. Belladonna has a rich and varied history and folklore.
Seed Germinating Tips: Belladonna germinates sporadically, usually between 10-30 days. Plant seeds in warm soil (between 70 and 80 degrees). Barely cover and keep moist but not soggy. Poisonous - do not take internally.
