Omega Flax Seeds
Linum usitatissimum 'Omega'
 
The Omega variety is grown for its high concentration of Omega-3 oil (linolenic acid), a fatty acid essential for human metabolism. A decoction of seeds can be used to treat catarrh, coughs, lung and chest ailments as well as digestive and urinary disorders.
 
To make a decoction: Add 1 Tbsp. seed to 1 qt. water. Boil until 1/2 the liquid is left. Take throughout the day.
 
CAUTION: Use only ripe seeds, immature seed pods can cause poisoning.
