Marshmallow Seeds
Althaea officinalis
An attractive herb for background planting, and well suited for parts of your garden that tend to stay a little more damp or even flood in winter.
 
The dried powdered root was once used to make confectionaries, possibly the original marshmallows. Use young leaves in spring salads.
 
Medicinal uses include demulcent, vulnerary, anti-inflammatory, emollient, diuretic.
