Recently developed American high-alpha bittering hop released in 2002 from the hop research facility in Corvallis, Oregon. Galena was produce as a potential replacement for Galena due to its multi-disease resistance, especially to some strains of Powdery Mildew in the Pacific Northwest. Newport has a fairly pungent resin flavor and mild citrus aroma. High yielding. Use in in any type of Ale.alpha 10-17%
