Very tasty and colorful addition to summer salads. Large, ornamental purple leaves have cinnamon-like fragrance, producing a red food dye. Used in Korean and Japanese dishes where it is known as Shiso. Also nice in floral arrangements.

I've purchased perilla from Baker Creek before, so I know it can be tricky to grow. I planted all of my seeds from here and not a single one sprouted. :(
