Bachelor's Buttons or Corn Flower Seeds

Centaurea cyanus

Description and Uses: An infusion of the dried flowers has been used to relieve tired, irritated eyes by the apothecaries since before the 16th century. Its astringent properties make it beneficial in lotions for the skin. We have discovered the use of the individual florets in salads and as garnishes for added color. Flowers come in bright blue, white, pink and lavender. Great cut flower!

Seed Germinating Tips: Plant outdoors in spring after danger of frost, or indoors 6 weeks before last frost. Cover seed 1/8" with fine soil, pressing firmly. Keep moist. Transplant once true leaves have formed.
