Ocimum basilicum 'New Guinea'
A very colorful plant with arrow-shaped leaves 1-1/2 to 2" long and 1/2 to 3/4" wide. The tops are dark green brushed with dark purple. The leaf veins and undersides are also dark purple. The leaves have a strong, sweet licorice aroma with a little mint and spice. New Guinea Basil makes excellent ornamental potted plant or mixed with our edible marigolds.
Seed Germinating Tips: Plant outdoors in spring after danger of frost, or indoors 6 weeks before last frost. Cover seed 1/8” with fine soil, pressing firmly. Keep moist.
