Description and Uses: Most commonly known for use as a grain, cover crop and bee plant. Buckwheat is high in rutin, which has studies have shown to be beneficial cardiovascular system. It is also high in flavoniods. Flowering tops are used in an infusion for hypertension and hardening of the arteries.
Seed Germinating Tips: Plant outdoors in spring after danger of frost, or indoors 6 weeks before last frost. Cover seed 1/4" deep with fine soil, pressing firmly.
