Since ancient times Dock has been used as an astringent tonic and laxative. Native Americans used the ground fresh roots to treat wounds. Considered a blood purifier in the 19th century. We find the juice from the crushed base of the leaves eases the effects of stinging nettle if applied to the affected area.
