Also known as Heals-All. A very useful medicinal herb and ornamental as well, with its pink to dark purple cone-like flowerheads. Followers in the Doctrine of Signatures saw a throat in the shape of the flower and used the herb for ailments of the throat. Commonly used to stem blood flow. Research suggests it may have antibiotic, hypotensive and antimutagent properties. Contains antitumor and diuretic compound ursolic acid.
