Native to prairies with damp, rich soils of the upper basin of the Illinois River and Great Lakes area. Tall stems produce beautiful pink airy flowers. As a background plant it is very ornamental. Queen of the Prairie has medicinal uses similar to the other Meadowsweets. Germination can be very sporadic.
