Black Ball Bachelor's Buttons Seeds
Centaurea cyanus
Description: This exciting variety of Bachelor's Button is deep burgundy black, with lustrous velvety blooms that continue for months. The dark color contrasts beautifully with silvery foliage that makes it an excellent addition to a silver or moon garden.
Uses: An infusion of the dried flowers has been used to relieve tired, irritated eyes by the apothecaries since before the 16th century. Its astringent properties make it beneficial in lotions for the skin.
Seed Germinating Tips: Plant outdoors in spring after danger of frost, or indoors 6 weeks before last frost. Cover seed 1/8" with fine soil, pressing firmly. Keep moist. Transplant once true leaves have formed.
